Vucevic Comments on Injury
Tuesday, March 8
Vucevic said he had an MRI on Tuesday, per the Orlando Sentinel's Josh Robbins. Vucevic noted he doesn't know the results or how severe the groin strain is.
Robbins added the injury has bugged him since before the All-Star break, and the pain has gotten worse of late.
Vucevic a Budding Star in Orlando
The young, talented Magic are still learning how to win, but they have a legitimate stud in the form of Vucevic. He is averaging 17.8 points, nine rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game this season after enjoying a career year in 2014-15 to the tune of 19.3 points and 10.9 rebounds per contest.
Vucevic has experienced a great deal of individual success since entering the NBA as a first-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011, but the 25-year-old veteran is ready to translate that into victories for the Magic.
Per NBA.com's John Denton, Vucevic stressed the importance of coming together as a team during the lead-up to the 2015-16 campaign:
Definitely, it's a very important year for us. We've had a couple of tough seasons where we haven't been very successful as a team and it's time for us to turn it around and have a better year. I think the guys have more experience from the last couple of years and they are hungry and really want to show that we're a better team that has improved.
Orlando is somewhat accustomed to Vucevic being on the shelf, though, as he missed 25 games in 2013-14 with multiple injuries, including an Achilles ailment.
Vucevic has also already been banged up this season, as he previously dealt with a bone bruise to his right knee.
