The NBA Draft Lottery: Lets Make It More Entertaining

It's been nearly a week since the NBA Draft lottery and it is definitely time for a change in the system.  The Bulls, who had the ninth best chance, ended up winning the pick. Isn't the point of the lottery to help out the bad teams?

Here are some ideas that could help the bad teams, or others that could just be more entertaining than a random drawing.  The Sonics are still one of the worst teams every year

•Play an NIT style tournament.  Let the bad teams play out in a single elimination, winner takes first pick tournament.  This would give us more games to watch with almost as much on the line.

•Have the two worst teams play.  The winner gets the higher pick.  Keep going for all playoff eliminated teams.

•A knockout tournament between a GM selected player from each team. Wouldn't it be great to see Jamal Crawford and Kevin Durant in the final round fighting for Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose?

•David Stern plays a round of darts blindfolded.  Whatever team he hits gets the first pick.

•Have an actual ping pong ball lottery on television.  Not behind the scenes. Let everyone see who comes out of the ping pong ball machine.  Change the odds so it is only 100 balls.  1,000 is too many and you can't have .7 of a ball.

•Give it to the Knicks.  They need the help.
