They say a picture says a thousand words, and surely they put a lot of thought in picking and designing these posters. And as I was looking for the official poster of the latest WWE PPV to use as my wallpaper, I just had to wonder if the choice of who to put on the poster actually has anything to do with the results.

So I decided to go all “Dan Brown” on them and look up the results of the last twelve month’s PPV results in relation to the posters. And here’s what I came up with.

Note: I picked PPV posters featuring only one superstar, so the Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble and Summer Slam covering this period are not included.

Take the results of the match of the person in the poster whether he won or lost.:

1. Four out twelve times, the person featured in the poster won his match.
- Those were Cena/Orton for Survivor Series, Randy Orton for Backlash, Edge for Judgment Day, and Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules. So that's a 33.33% possibility that the guy on the poster will win.

2. Six out of twelve times, the person featured in the poster lost his match.
- Those were Batista at Unforiven, Jeff Hardy at No Mercy, Chris Jericho at Armageddon, Kozlov at No Way Out, CM Punk at NoC, and Triple H at Breaking Point. That gives a 50% possibility of losing for the guy on the poster.

3. Two out of twelve times, the person featured in the poster has nothing to do with the event. Those two being CM Punk at Cyber Sunday because he didn't get the highest vote, and Batista at The Bash because he was out on an injury. And that leaves 16.66% chance that the guy on the poster has nothing to do with the PPV.

So, next time you put your bets up on those "Prediction Leagues" that we have around here, there's something you can consider!

Okay, I gotta admit this is kinda lame. But indulge me. We can't be serious all the time!
