With the Los Angeles Lakers win in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals, they took a 3-1 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs.

History would suggest that the Spurs have no chance at winning the series. A 3-1 deficit is nearly insurmountable, and I think the statistics will back that up. I think the Spurs make be able to win Game 5 but will not make it past Game 6.

In my eyes, the series was over during Game 1, when San Antonio had a 20-point lead in the third quarter and lost the game. The Spurs could have taken Game 1 on the road, and that alone would have changed the series dramatically.

Three messages would have been sent to the Lakers: that the Spurs can win at Staples Center, that the Spurs are indeed the defending champions, and that the Spurs are still a team to be reckoned with.

Instead, the Spurs just look like a feeble team on the decline.

  1. "I think the Spurs make be able to win Game 5..."

Did you mean "make believe", as in Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood? Because that is likely the only place the Spurs will get a win. They have a 1-12 lifetime playoff record at Staples.

  2. Yes as much as I hate to say it, I believe he Spurs are finnished for the season. I didn't know that they have a lifetime record that they only won 1 game out of 12? Sad, but nothing is impossible but it is near to it. If they do pull it out, you can bet that they will win it all. But like you said, it's next to impossible. GO SPURS GO!!!
