Boom.
"I just saw it coming from a mile away," said linebacker Omar Gaither. "The funny thing about it is, we were working that play all week in practice and everybody was saying if it ever came off that way it would be perfect. That was the perfect play for Sheldon Brown and I don't think anybody will ever forget that."
The Sheldon Brown Hit. Come on, you all know what I am talking about.
Drew Brees saw Bush open in the flat and gunned it to him. Bush, without fully turning upfield to run, was laid out by Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown.
That hit was one that Reggie Bush, Running back for the Saints, would never forget for the rest of his life.
Bush deemed as a surefire hall-of-famer before even before being drafted by the Saints, had a good rookie year for a running back.
He had 565 yards rushing, not to mention 88 catches for 742 yards and had a total of 9 touchdowns that year. Every time he touched the ball, he struck fear in the defense.
That talent has dropped off. The Brown hit knocked not only Bush to the ground, but his talent as well.
Since the hit, his stats steadily have dropped. He has also caught the injury bug, being injured for most of last season.
The Sheldon Brown hit was a career changer for Reggie Bush.
