FROM NECESSARY ROUGHNESS
The Hurricane were six point favorites at home against Georgia Tech and ended up dominating every facet of the game and won 33-17 (the game was not even that close). Jacory Harris was virtually flawless going 20-25 for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns and The Hurricanes basically doubled Georgia Tech, who came in ranked 14th, in every stat from rushing yards, passing yards to final score.
Georgia Tech looks to be a fraud, similar to Clemson of 2008.
This is the first time The Canes have beat ranked teams in consecutive games since 2003, and look to continue this streak next week. Miami should move up into the top 15 and will be facing #13 Virginia Tech on the road next weekend.
Assuming Va. Tech wins this weekend vs. Nebraska, which was one of my weekend picks, this game next week could end up being an ACC championship game, in late September. Both teams will be ranked 10-15 and this will be a match up of ACC favorite against ACC come-back team of the year.
I expect Virginia Tech to be slight favorites but I believe Miami will win and take control of the ACC.
Full preview to come next week.
