Ole Miss 43, Alabama 37 — Final

Last year was an upset. This year was a statement.

That’s what Hugh Freeze and No. 15 Ole Miss registered as they pulled ahead big before holding on late for a 43-37 victory over No. 2 Alabama Saturday night.

Chad Kelly was everything the Rebels needed, completing 18-of-33 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns (against no interceptions). On a night when the running game struggled—registering just 92 yards on 32 carries—Kelly made all the plays in a clutch performance.

On the other side, Alabama’s offense struggled. The Tide turned the ball over five times (two of which came via fumbles on kickoff returns), and the Rebels turned those opportunities into 24 points the other way.
