Nebraska vs. Virginia Tech

This should be a close game much like last year's. The game will hinge on the ability of Nebraska's defense to slow down Tyrod Taylor, and on Virginia Tech's rushing attack. If Nebraska can force Taylor to beat them through the air then they should win, but it'll be close.

Nebraska: 24 Virginia Tech: 17

Georgia Tech vs. Miami

I was excited when Paul Johnson was brought to Georgia Tech because it gave the triple option another shot in major college football. This type of running game, while used at Navy, hasn't been seen in big time college ball since the end of Nebraska's dynasty in 2003.

I think this will be another close one but the running game of Georgia Tech will eventually wear down the Hurricane's defense and give the game to Georgia Tech, who in my opinion could run the table this season in the ACC.

Georgia Tech: 28 Miami: 20

Tennesee vs. Florida

This game won't be close. Not because Tennesee are that bad, but because Lane Kiffin has upset the best team in the country with his trash talking. Florida's defense will smother the Vols offense and Tebow and company will tear apart the Tennessee defense.

Florida: 41 Tennesee: 14

Florida State vs. BYU

Every year we say that we need a playoff to give the smaller conference teams a shot at the title. Well this could be the year that one of those teams sneaks into the BCS title game, and that team could be BYU. No they're not in a big time conference but they are already at number seven, there are two other ranked teams in the mountain west in Utah and TCU, and they beat Oklahoma.

I mean, come on let's face it, if BYU can run the table this year their resume is going to be pretty impresive. As far as the game goes I say Florida State, after that heartbreaker at Miami, will lose. I believe this is BYU's year and possibly the year that a smaller confrence team get their shot.

BYU: 21 Florida State: 14

Texas vs. Texas Tech

They're expecting the largest crowd in Texas school history for this one. Can Leach replace Harell and Crabtree? On Saturday we'll find out. I think Tech will be effective on offense and I never count out Mike Leach. That being said, you can't just replace talent like Crabtree and Harell. Tech keep it close but they won't have enough in the tank to cause upset number two.

Texas: 35 Texas Tech: 21

California vs. Minnesota

Many think that this could be the year Cal overthrows USC and wins the Pac 10 and at number eight, possibly a national title. However Minnesota are no pushovers, as they started last season undefeated, before falling on hard times midseason. Cal have a history of overlooking smaller opponents. This one will be closer than the experts think but Cal survive a scare.

California: 35 Minnisota: 27

Boise State vs. Fresno State

Boise State are most likely to be undefeated this year, and they are another team that deserves that shot in the title game. That being said they are in too small a conference and don't play enough big time teams to get there. Fresno are the toughest opponent they have left on the schedule. This game will be close but Boisie will win.

Boise: 21 Fresno State: 17
