Kansas Students Struggle to Talk About Football Team

While football pretty much rules the United States, basketball is king at the University of Kansas.

This video pretty much shows that.

The University Daily Kansan talked to a handful of students on campus about the Jayhawks football team. Not only could most of the students not tell the reporter what the team's record was in 2014, but there weren't many who could name even a single player or the coach.

Of course, when a team struggles to win games, it has a hard time attracting fans. Kansas has not won more than three games in a season since 2009 and has not posted a winning record since 2008. Remember, it was less than a decade ago that the Jayhawks had what is arguably the greatest season in program history, with an Orange Bowl victory capping off a 12-1 season in 2007.

It is entirely possible that there were some students who were able to answer the questions correctly. However, there were at least enough students who struggled to do so that a video segment was able to be created.
