Blues, Leafs Both After GM Doug Armstrong

Despite the fact the Maple Leafs are finally beginning to reach out to people regarding their vacant general manager job, the situation certainly isn't any clearer.

Yesterday TSN and other various media outlets reported that Doug Armstrong was going to be meeting with the GM search committee sometime this week to discuss the possibility of becoming the Leafs GM.

However, there are now conflicting reports that state Armstrong is heavily considering joining the St. Louis Blues organization.

When the FAN590 contacted Armstrong himself, they asked him if he was no longer talking to the Leafs and he stated it wasn't true. The former Dallas GM said that he hasn't made a decision and is still open to discussions with both teams.

Certainly the St. Louis situation would intrigue any free agent manager, especially when held beside the Toronto Maple Leafs situation.

Hockeysfuture ranked the Blues prospects number one this past summer.
