Manchester United Fans: Glory Hunters?
Being a 16 year old in this age and a Manchester United fan, I have been subject to abuse when it comes to the issue of glory hunters. The fact is I have been a Manchester United fan since before I can remember. My entire family support United, and being from Manchester, I wasn't going to support a team from down south. Perhaps there are glory hunters, but you will get that anywhere. Since Abramovich took control of Chelsea, I have noticed an increase in the number of Chelsea shirts being worn around Manchester, and as for Liverpool fans? Well I despise no one more. Liverpool fans of the previous generation have much more reason to be called glory hunters. The all conquering scousers of the 70's and 80's had a huge fan base, and whilst United were a relatively poor team, given the stars that we had. Ultimately, there are always going to be to be glory hunters with any successful team, because that is the fickle nature of humanity. Look at Manchester City fans, they are now saying they are superb when they used to moan that United were just built on money. Little bit rich coming from them now huh? Well I suppose everyone is entitled to an opinion, but the next time you call a Manchester United fan a glory hunter, keep this in mind, they may have stuck with United after the dreadful year of 1974, or they may be like me, and be a genuine fan.
