New York Knicks: What Do They Do Now, Besides Wait For a Miracle?

Randolph and Curry are the anti-D'Antoni, but are solid players so some teams would be interested in them. New York could send Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins, a young project, to the Magic for Tony Battie, Brian Cook, Keith Bogans, and JJ Redick.

The Knicks get expiring contract from Battie and a Boris Diaw type of player in Cook. JJ Redick is a good shooter and can fit well with D'Antoni's system.

Magic get a 20 point and 10 rebound player who can take pressure off of Dwight Howard in the paint. He would fit perfectly with the Magic and Mardy Collins can be a solid back up to Jameer Nelson.

Eddy Curry has been really disappointing for the Knicks; however, he is a solid player overall. At the end of last season, he did play really well. He just would not fit the running attitude in New York. He would be a good fit in Toronto where they need a big body in the post next to Bosh.

The Knicks could trade Curry and sixth pick for TJ Ford and the number seventeen pick and next year's first round pick.

TJ Ford is one of the best point guards in the league, if you believe it or not. He fits perfectly with D'Antoni as he is one of the fastest players in the NBA who can score and pass well.

The Raptors are going to choose Jose Calderon over Ford so they would want to send him out. He is a high value player and the Knicks would not have really any player that D'Antoni would really want at number 6.

At number 17, the Knicks could get a valued player like Nicolas Batum who is similar to Rudy Gay and will shine in New York.

Overall, from what I am saying, the starting lineup next season would be TJ Ford, Jamal Crawford, Quentin Richardson, Jared Jeffries, and Jermaine O'Neal.

The Knicks would be favored to get into the playoffs and would not have to suffer another four years on a rebuilding process. There are a lot of expiring contracts which will open cap space for them to attempt to sign LeBron James in 2010.

This is what I think will help the Knicks get back to being one of the best in the East.
