MMA: Which Five Fighters Would You Buy a PPV For?
The greatest thing about MMA is that everyone has different opinions about their favorite fighters. If you asked ten different fans for their top five, you probably wouldn't get the same list twice.
Here we are going to take a look at five guys who would make you purchase a PPV no matter who their stepping in against.
In no particular order:
1. Chuck Liddell
Chuck is one of, if not the best knockout artist in the business. The head kick he landed on Babalu during their first fight has become one of the UFC's most played knockouts.
He has KO'd a who's who list of the MMA world. Randleman, Mezger, Overeem, Ortiz, White, and Couture twice. Whenever the "Iceman" fights there is a high probability of a highlight reel KO.
2. Georges St. Pierre
GSP could very well be the future of the UFC. GSP is dynamic, young, extremely talented, and one of the most gifted athletes the UFC has.
GSP has the ability to end the fight anywhere at anytime, and that is why I'll spend my hard earned money to see him fight.
The best heavyweight in the world, as long as he fights top competition. His upcoming fight with former UFC Champ Tim Sylvia is his first real test in a long time.
Fedor has an incredible ground game with his last four fights ending in a submission.
Silva has dominated everyone put in front of him by the UFC. His striking is some of the best in the business, and his ground game is top notch.
The UFC may be struggling to find suitable competition for Silva, but it doesn't matter because Silva is so much fun to watch no matter who he faces. I'm sure the UFC will slate a top level BJJ guy to face Silva soon.
The next logical opponent will be OKami, after that, look for a guy like Maia or Almeida to try to take the Spider's belt.
5. B.J. Penn
Love him or hate him, Penn has proven he is one of the best in the business. He has always had a ton of talent but his work ethnic has been questioned. Penn has refocused himself and is taking the fight game seriously.
That makes him one of the most dangerous guys in the UFC.
After Penn's victory over Sherk he called out GSP. If the fight happens it would be huge, and may settle the question who is the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
These are the five guys that no matter who they square off against I would lay down my hard earned money to see.
Who are the fighters that when you hear are fighting would you plan on buying the PPV?
