Notre Dame, it is time for the Charlie Weis era to end. It is outrageous that he gets this much time to turn around a program. Coaches like Rich Rodriguez are on the hot seat after just one year without any of his kind of players to run his system. Weis on the hand, has had only two successful seasons (both of which with Brady Quinn and Tyrone Willingham players) and has continued to turn brilliant recruiting classes into average players.

It is not just the fact that he has lost all the big games (0-2 in BCS bowl games), but the fact that he continues to lose games against Michigan State and teams like Syracuse.

Weis has been given five years to get Notre Dame back on track unlike Willingham who was only given three years, and Weis has continuously been given every excuse to why he is not succeeding.

Weis first claimed that he had not gotten his players in his system yet (Brady Quinn and Jeff Samardzija were not good enough for him). His second claim were his players were too young. Well, former top quarterback recruit Jimmy Clausen is now a junior along with many other five star recruits.

Weis is now without any excuses. What can he blame? Bad calls? Injuries? Whatever he does, Notre Dame needs to move on from the Charlie Weis era and bring in someone who cannot just make excuses but actually coach.
