The Loveliest Village on the Plains has a new shine on it these days.  The new shine comes straight from the hands of Coach Gene Chizik.  Iowa State is looking more and more like Mr. Miyagi's back yard where a young Daniel Son honed his skills to step into the ring where he was seemingly outmatched...you know the rest of the story.

Gene Chizik now stands at 7-19 overall as a head coach but how often are you hearing that these days?  Before the season that record seemed to follow his name as if it where some sort of "last" last name.  Coach Gene Chizik 5-19....blah blah blah.

With Auburn rewriting record books in the first two games one has to ask, are the Tigers for real?  Well, the pollsters aren't convinced just yet.  But really, who is to blame them?  Louisiana Tech and Mississippi State aren't exactly Texas and USC.

Where Auburn is going to find votes is that this Auburn team is fun to watch!  That is something that Auburn fans have missed since the days of Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown, and Carnell Williams.  It's also something that pollsters have missed since that 2004 season.

The Tigers have several tests ahead of them that will prove whether or not Auburn is in fact back in the race or not, but one thing is for certain...The Cobra Kai's better watch out!
