UFC: Who Is the Most Ultimate Fighter of Them All?

Sean HarrisMay 24, 2008

Well The Ultimate Fighter Season Seven, which features the middleweights and two class clown ass kicking coaches, is in its semifinal stages.  Looking back on the history of the widely successful reality show I realize something that would make a wonderful debate.

Which Ultimate Fighter participant will be the first to win a UFC World Championship?

Now I know for a fact that many readers just stopped reading this article and thought, "Sean are you stupid or what?  We already have had an Ultimate Fighter crowned champion in one Matt Serra."

To you I say, I know dip-weed I didn't fall off the face of the earth last year.  I live in Canada, and when you live north of the 49th parallel and your a gigantic MMA fan, not a single day passes without something reminding me of the biggest upset in UFC history.  I was very bitter, at least until April 19th of course.

Anyway, back at the task at hand.  Serra was handed that title shot due to winning the show, so I don't really see it as the other seasons where the winning fighter only got a contract.

So let the great debate rage on.

Many fighters from the show have earned title shots on their on accord, but all have failed in their attempt to put the gold around their waists.

Nate Quarry, Kenny Florian, Joe Stevenson, and Travis Lutter have gotten to the big dance, but all have come up just short.  In Lutter's case, it wasn't even a title shot when it came time to tussle.

Could Forrest Griffin be the man come July?  Or will he suffer the same fate as his TUF brethren?  Post comments on this article so I can see what you, the reader, thinks.

Quite frankly, call me crazy, but my pick is Patrick Cote.  I think he could have the tools to dethrone King Anderson, but that's just me slipping in my Canadian bias again, if you didn't notice.
