Sanchez, Jets, Look To Make Splash In Lone Star State

The Jets are looking to start the 2009-2010 campaign off right after the collapse thatl eft the once first-place Jets out of the playoffs and morally heartbroken.  Gang Green visits Reliant stadium on sunday afternoon to try and begin erasing the memory of the year that has passed.

Mark Sanchez, making his NFL debut, has much to prove under the microscope of the big apple.  With no big-name wide receiver, former-Trojan great Sanchez looks to keep this offense on track and put up enough points to support a very capable defense.  Houston, with Matt Schaub leading the way is looking to exploit the Jets improved secondary with star wide-out Andre Johnson and former WVU mountaineer running back Steve Slaton.

The AFC East is going to be extremely tough this year as everybody knows.  The Jets need to get it started off right with Rex Ryan at the helm along with the afore mentioned new defensive look including Lito Sheppard and Bart Scott.  Thomas Jones will anchor the offense along with the scatty Leon Washington and number one receiver, Jerricho Cotchery.  How will the Jets fare?  They are getting five points in the spread, and are not expected to show much to anybody.  New York is getting no respect and this is their chance to start the season off right and prove, on the road no less, that they have moved on form last season and are ready to make this new era a good one for those who bleed green and white.
