There is no doubt that Panthers rookie running back Mike Goodson has great athleticism. He has a chance to make an immediate impact at running back, slot receiver and on kickoff returns. Goodson has impressed coaches with his vision, toughness, quickness and speed.

At the 2009 NFL Combine, he ran the 40 yard dash in 4.54 seconds, ranking 7th among all running backs. He was selected by Carolina in the 4th round (111 overall) in the NFL Draft. Two months after the draft, he agreed to a 4-year deal with Carolina.

During the first preseason game against the New York Giants, Goodson made a throat slash gesture towards the crowd after scoring a touchdown. He was flagged and later fined $7,500. Goodson has proved to coaches and teammates that he belongs in the NFL, despite being the No.3 running back. The only concern for Goodson is ball security. He fumbled three times during the preseason.

Due to Mark Jones failing his physical, Goodson could return kicks during Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
