MWC Power Rankings: Week Two

The Mountain West Conference has been making claims to be BCS worthy over the last few years, it has now not only arrived, the MWC is now challenging to be not just a BCS conference, but to challenge for berth in the BCS title game on Jan. 7 in Pasadena.

While the big three of the MWC are obvious (BYU, Utah, and TCU), other programs have been improving and have become competitive. Air Force under new coach and Falcon-alum Troy Calhoun has brought back the Falcons to the high standards they enjoyed in the old days of the WAC.

New CSU coach Steve Fairchild (and Ram alum) turned around the Rams faster than anyone could have imagined. UNLV and SDSU look as worthy contenders to the MWC middle.

Wyoming may not improve under its new coach and his spread offense, but they have still pulled important upsets over the last few years. The Lobos look to own the MWC bottom for the immediate future.
