Gyan then double Ghana’s advantage early in the second period, Kengo Nakamura soon brought Japan back into the game, only for Matthew Amoah to restore the Africans two goal advantage. But a terrific effort from Japan in the final ten minutes turned the match on its head as Shinji Okazaki, Keiji Tamada and finally ex-Arsenal midfielder Junichi Inamoto scored three goals inside four minutes.
