Yankees-Mariners: New York Offense Erupts in 13-2 Win

Rain ManCorrespondent IMay 23, 2008

The slumbering Yankees offense, has finally woken up, in a 12-3 win, including an 8 run outburst in the fifth inning.

Shelley Duncan's three-run jack in the second inning set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Mariners never fought back after that. The Mariners manager, McLaren was ejected, for arguing to an umpire about a strike-three call on Ichiro in the 2nd inning.

To make matters worse, Erik Bedard, the Mariners ace, gave up 9 runs, all of them earned, on 4.1 IP. This is the second time the Yankees gave him the L this year.

McLaren is seriously on the hot seat, and unless the Mariners steal Giambi's thong, and duplicate it for all Mariners players to wear (lol), things won't get better.

Andy Pettitte gets the win, as he fans 9 Mariners batters and only allowed 2 earned runs in 6 innings of pitching.
