Summer time is over, time to put the grills away and start watching the leaves turn colors. This is not the end of a sports fans dream, it is only the beginning. Kickoff weekend is wrapping up with one of the best college football games every year in Miami vs Florida State, the U.S. Open continues, the NFL kicks off with Tennessee at Pittsburgh, then Saturday will bring us the return of Notre Dame vs Mchigan and then the prime time game of USC vs Ohio State. Let the good times roll!

#1 Miami vs Flordia State

The "U" and Florida State may not be the National Championship powers that they once were, but this game is always a dog fight. The young "U" against the old man, Bobby Bowden, who is chasing Joe Paterno in wins. Sit back and enjoy your Labor Day evening with this game at 8:00 PM on ESPN.

#2 The U.S. Open

America's tournament is in the final week and a 17 year old phenom is the talk of the tournament. Flushing Queens, New York is the site of the biggest party of the summer so grab your Heineken and enjoy.

That was last year and this year Big Ben opens with Tennessee and the Titans. It is time to get out of your fantasy world and into the real world of football. The storylines to keep watch on are Michael Vick and the Eagles, who is starting for the Cleveland Browns, Matthew Stafford and Mark Sanchez.

#4 The return of national powers

The last couple of years Notre Dame and Michigan have not been what they were during your father's day. High hopes may be returning to both of these schools with their very impressive wins in their opening weekend. Notre Dame is looking for a BCS berth as this game will help and Michigan is just looking to regain their dignity and a little respect for the Big 10.

#5 Primetime showdown in the Shoe

The weight of the world will be on young sophomore quarterback Terrelle Pryor as he hosts the Men of Troy from Southern California. Last year's game was a blow out, but this year could be a little different with two young quarterbacks in this showcase. Just like Michigan, Ohio State is looking for respect in the Big 10 and both teams are looking for BCS berths, primarily the National Championship in Pasadena.
