I have a serious question for you:
So you're the starting quarterback of a top-10 ranked NCAA football team. You've got a lot on your mind with the new season upon you. You know you're going to be on national TV, so you're really focusing on your game plan.
But you've also got a lot of fans and friends who need your love and support. You could choose anyone in the whole wide world to support. You've got two cheekbones, so who should it be? Mom? Sister? Cousin? Jesus? Arggg...These decisions are so hard.
How about convicted dog electrocuter, hanger, and drowner Michael Vick?
After all, it has been an awfully tough couple of years for Mike. It can't feel good to lose all that money and a job. And it can't feel good to be in prison.
So, if you're Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, of all the great people and role models you've had, you choose Vick. After all, it's your cheekbone. And it's a free country, people. You can say what you want.
But why Vick? Well, Pryor had this to say: "I know what happened with him and, I mean, I don't want to talk much. I'm just going to be very short and sweet with it. But I just feel he made his mistake, and I think he just needs more support." (Quote from Pryor)
That three-game suspension and landing a job in the NFL breathing down a veteran starter's neck can't be enough to help the guy out. Nor is the millions of dollars he's likely to soon make.
You think you'll choose to support that guy. After all, "Not everybody is the perfect person in the world. Everyone does—kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me. I just feel that people need to give him a chance." (Quote from Pryor)
That's right. Since everyone kills and "murders people" and everyone steals from me.
Excuse you, Terrelle?
Now that that's settled, what about next week? Who are you going to choose then?
I don't want to spoil it for you, but I've heard of this guy named Maurice—a former Buckeye, in fact—who really needs a second chance.
