Kickoff and punt returner Mark Jones was at Bank of America Stadium this morning, and said that he expects to sign a deal with Carolina. During the offseason, Jones was released by Carolina and then the Titans signed him. Tennessee released Jones, due to a hamstring injury.

Jones said that his hamstring has healed, and hopes he pass his physical. Jones was a solid returner for Carolina last season, averaging 11.4 yards on 39 punt returns and 24 yards on kickoffs. He helped the Panthers maintain good field position.

Cornerback Captain Munnerlyn and receiver Kenneth Moore were struggling with punt returns in the preseason. Signing Jones will help improve Carolina's special teams.
