Norfolk Christian forward James McAdoo visited the campus of the University of North Carolina for the 100 year celebration UNC Alumni game, and came away the latest commit to the team.
McAdoo verbally committed after a brief conversation with head coach Roy Williams.
At 6’8 210 lbs, McAdoo was rated in the top five nationally in the 2011 class, and was given five stars by rivals.com. McAdoo averaged 25.2 points and 11 rebounds as a sophomore last season.
His passion for UNC was evident as he spoke to reporters. “Even if you take basketball away from the equation, I’d love to go to that school. At North Carolina, basketball is a brotherhood.”
McAdoo is recovering from surgery he had for repairing a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He is expected to be at full strength by December.
McAdoo is the second 2011 recruit to commit to UNC. In early August Dudley H.S. star shooting guard P.J. Hairston committed to UNC just one day after receiving the scholarship offer from Coach Williams. Hairston, 6’6” 205 lbs, is a four star recruit from Greensboro N.C.
