According to ESPN, the Oakland Raiders acquired the longtime staple of the New England defense for a first round draft pick in 2011.

Richard Seymour will most likely be making the transition from 3-4 defensive end, to a defensive tackle in the 4-3 the Raiders run. This move may also be an attempt by the front offense to help a porous run defense, one that ranked 31st in the league last year, and hasn't looked any better in the preseason in games where we were constantly burned by the likes of Glen Coffee, Reggie Bush, and any other team's running backs on the field to be honest with you.

The Patriots and Raiders have been active trade partners the last couple of years, from shipping Randy Moss to New England in 2007and Derrick Burgess this offseason, and now Richard Seymour is coming to Oakland.

Welcome to Raider Nation, Richard Seymour, and enjoy your stay.
