Ray Allen Erupts for Best Game of Playoffs in Losing Effort

TJ ZwarychSenior Writer ISeptember 22, 2016

Pistons 103, Celtics 97.

Ray Allen played ended his shooting woes Wednesday going 9-16 from the field and 5-5 from the line for 25 points. So if he finally played well, and he didn't the last game they won, why didn't they win this time?

Pierce and Garnett also played very well. Pierce had a game-high 26 points and 5 rebounds, 4 assists and a block. Garnett had 24 points, 13 boards and 2 blocks, so what went wrong?

Two things.  First of all, other then Rajon Rondo, no one else scored! You get a couple of guys at 4 then 2-3 others at 2. That just doesn't cut it.

Second of all, you CANNOT allow the Pistons to score over one hundred points. You will not win. They are just too good of a defensive team.  If they do score that much, they will win because it is damn hard to score over 100 against the Pistons.

The Pistons scoring was much more balanced. They had six players in double figures with Rip Hamilton leading the way scoring 25. Backup guard Rodney Stuckey pitched in nicely with 13 points, 3 assists and 2 steals.

So there is your gameo recap of game 2 in the Pistons/Celtics series. My original pick for the series was Celtics in 6. But for that to happen, they are going to have to learn to win a road game.
