The Ohio State Buckeyes will kick off the 2009 season against the Navy Midshipmen. Instead of the usual booing or disregard when the opponent takes the field, it has been suggested that the entire Buckeye nation pay tribute to not only Navy, but to all service academies and to all those who proudly serve our country with a simple, yet powerful and respectful gesture. I'll let the video below reveal the details.

Such a classy act by the Buckeyes really shows their understanding that there's more important things in life than football. My shirking of responsibilities all week long in painful anticipation of the start of the college football season, however, may suggest otherwise. Nonetheless, one can only hope that this act will set a precedent for the entire nation to follow, this and many years to come.

I would go so far as to suggest that anyone who doesn't follow suit, should by identified as a terrorist and then be incorporated into the halftime show (use your imagination).

The Ohio State University, you are truly a class act.

God bless America. Go Buckeyes!
