Bruce Bowen Retiring From NBA

I don't know about you, but I am truly saddened but Bruce Bowen announcing that he would retire. I saw it coming after he lost the starting job at small forward to Michael Finely after starting every game he played for 7 straight seasons, playing in nearly every game. Known for his lock-down defense and those corner threes he loved so much. Your not gonna see his picture in the newspaper, no highlights, but you will see a player who for 7 years in a row he was on the 1st or 2nd All-NBA Defensive team. A quiet man, played hard, little recognition for it though. I loved to watch Bowen play, especially when he was guarding the best like Kobe and T-mac. He even completely shut down Lebron in the 2007 finals. When I used to watch Spurs games I would glue my eyes on Bowen when he was playing defense, even when he wasn't guarding the ball. He was almost always on my fantasy games on the PlayStation. Without Bruce Bowen the Spurs would of had a much more difficult time winning the three they won. He built his career on defense more then any other player I can think of, Rodman comes to mind but he was more so a rebounder. This is to Bruce Bowen, the man who averaged the best 3PT% and a 40% free throw percentage in the 2001-2002 season. Yes his 3PT% was higher then his free throw %. I'll miss watching you on the court.
