Rafa's Back! Nadal Destroys Gasquet In a Straight Sets Return
Rafael Nadal was in Grand Slam action yesterday and sent out a warning to his rivals as he stormed to a 6/2 6/2 6/3 victory over former top10 player and very good friend Richard Gasquet who just couldn't keep up the pace of Rafa's serves. Rafa got off to a blistering start breaking Gasquet to love in the second game then consolodating the break by winning his serve to 30. Gasquet finally got on the board in the fourth game with a hard fought service win that had went to duece but he finally sealed it. Rafa then took back control by winning yet another serve to 15. Gasquet then won only his second game of the match as yet with a hold to 30. Then Rafa sensed the oppertutinty to close out the set and took his service game and the set with what would be his 3rd and 4th aces of the match. Rafa then got off to an equally fast start winning his serve to love. Gasquet then won his serve to 15 with a couple of tricky serves. In the end the second set was a repeat of the first with Rafa winning it 6/2 The third set ended 6/3 with Rafa sealing it with a winner right down the line.
Rafa's next opponent is Nicholas Keifer of Germany who has never as much as took a set off Rafa and so should be a mere work out for Rafa who will hopefully be just as sublime in that match as he was in the first.
