Hi.
This is my first article in a couple of weeks due to the loss of a close friend.
The WWE has not been at the forefront of my mind but I have tried to keep watching and one thing has caught my eye. Something I am pleased to have seen return. The WWE has brought back the factions.
We all point flaws at the WWE but this is a good thing and they deserve credit for this move.
This rebirth of the faction was started by La Familia. It won't go down in history as one of the great factions. It was even annoying at some points. However, it was a good faction providing some entertaining feuds.
The feud with The Undertaker was very good. Watching Edge's breakdown which was near the end of La Familia was brilliant. The Foley/Edge Promo was a classic.
Whether that inspired Vince to get the factions back I don't know but whatever it was it is brilliant to see factions again in the WWE.
We have Legacy and DX as the main factions on Raw. A classic faction in DX and if used properly, Legacy could also be remembered as a classic.
Also we have Chris Jericho and Big Show mixing it up on all three brands. It's not the best use of either of these guys but I still like them as a team. Both of them come across as arrogant, which is good.
Jericho also has that trace of cowardice hiding behind Show. I like these sort of characters. How they cross the normal boundaries for characters.
On Smackdown we have The Hart Dynasty and Cryme Tyme. Yes I guess these are more like teams than factions. However I have decided to call them factions with the excuse of they have three members each.
Cryme Tyme has been kicking around for a while and needed something to make people care. Their small feud with The Hart Dynasty got people caring again. Let's hope that they are allowed to have a meaningful feud in the tag team division.
Hart Dynasty, I only have one concern about. Just occasionally I feel that DH Smith is holding back TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd) . Apart from that, I enjoy them and look forward to their matches. A bright future for Wilson and Natalya at worst.
However my personal favourite at the moment is on ECW. Regal, Kozlov and Jackson. I never thought something I enjoyed would have Vladimir Kozlov involved. However this team has me completely hooked.
It is a brilliantly powerful looking faction. This group under the wing of Regal could send them all to new heights. I hope this faction does last for a long time.
I hope this new revival in groups in the WWE keeps going. If we are lucky, we may get a Ministry of Darkness return. Yes I am joking I know that won't happen.
