Pujols For NL MVP ........... Wait Who's This Guy Hanley ?

Folks lets be real for a second, in all our minds Albert Pujols is the NL MVP but is this kid Hanley Ramirez a serious threat to King Albert's crown?

For those of you that don't know Hanley Ramirez well he just might be the most talented player in MLB. This young man is the best short stop in the game now and definitely one of the top 5 players in MLB right now, only 25 he already has 2 All Star Selections, a Sliver Slugger, a Rookie Of The Year Award, 2 times he has got a MVP vote, 2 times has stole over 50 SB, and at the end of this year he will have 3 20+ HR seasons.

What gives this shortstop the right to be in the same sentence as Albert? Well, this talented young man is currently leading the league in 3 offensive categories .355 .BA, 170 hits and 37 doubles. Not to mention his defense has improved dramatically this year to a very respectable .982% from a shaky .967%.

Even some categories that he isn't leading the league in he still has impressive numbers in like a .972 OPS, 19 HR, 85 RBI, 24 SB, .417% OBP, .555% SLG and 82 runs. All as a shortstop none the less.

This guy just has every tool in the box.

When you look at Pujols stats they speak for themself, a jaw dropping 42 HR, 111 RBI, .673% SLG, .444% OBP, 104 runs and 1.117 OPS. All of those categories Albert is leading in except for RBI.

Last year what Justin Morneau did you expected from a first basemen and what Dustin Pedrioa did you didn't expect from a second basemen.

So that might play a factor in this years NL MVP race, you expect awesome power numbers from a first basemen but not offensive numbers to this extent from a shortstop.

People believe it or not Albert is still human and is hitting below .300 in the second half of the season (.296) and Hanley has .BA wise been a lot better then him in the second half hitting at .365.

The young shortstop in the second half actually has the same number of RBI's as Pujols (both at 24) but what makes it even more impressive is that Hanley's team is only 4 games over .500% and he is putting up these stellar numbers.

At the end of the day will Hanley take the NL MVP home ........ probably not but he will make it interesting for sure.

But anyway enough of me, I want to here from you guys. Please go right ahead and tell me what you all think of the NL MVP race and if Hanley should even make Albert nervous in the race.
