Oddly picked on by the American Idol judges, being clearly the underdog in their song duel finale at the Nokia Theatre, David Cook came right back to beat sensational counterpart David Archuleta to conquer the seventh American Idol singing competition.

Meanwhile, just across the street, Kobe Bryant led a furious rally from 20 points behind against the defending champion San Antonio Spurs to lead Hollywood's most celebrated gunners in Game 1 of the NBA Western Conference finals 89-85.
It's a huge sigh of relief. I thought we're going to lose.

But somehow, Kobe and the Lakers found a way to come through and overcome their old rivals from Texas.

The Los Angeles Lakers, led by head coach Phil Jackson have won 16 playoff series after first-game victories and have never relinquished such feat.

Now, the Spurs would have to exorcise the most compelling of all demons: history.

A lot of happenings are still to materialize along the way.

The series had just begun though.

Come what may, Lakers all the way!!!

GOD IS SOOO, SOOOO GOOD!!!

I BLEED PURPLE AND GOLD!!!

Much respect to the Spurs!

May the best team win!

God bless us!
