Freeman Could Start Friday

Josh Freeman was so good, the Buccaneers essentially traded for him by moving up from the 19th spot in the draft to the 17th.

As stated earlier this week, Byron Leftwich will be the regular season starter, but Josh Freeman could maybe, perhaps, and could quite possibly start this Friday. Raheem Morris hinted, but didn't straight come out and say that Freeman would start against the Houston Texans at home.

"We want to go with the young guys,'' Morris said as the Bucs attempt to even their preseason record at 2-2. "Yes, he [Freeman] could come out of the tunnel this week.''

If Freeman does end up starting, it won't prove much. The fourth pre-season game is just taking the first two quarters of the first two pre-season games out, and then starting the third quarter in the first quarter.

However, I would like to see Freeman perform well as he is our future in Tampa Bay. Personally I think management should have just started Freeman over Leftwich and McCown. I mean is Leftwich really going to make a bigger difference than Freeman? Josh seems to have the mindset to not give up on himself after a few losses.

Nonetheless, give Freeman his start on Friday and hope that he delivers and proves that he is worth a first round draft choice.
