On Wednesday Rafa will walk out on to center court in front of 15000 fans and kick off his bid to become only the 7th man to win a career Slam and not only will he suceed in doing so if he wins he will have fufilled a childhood dream and be once agian reconised as one of the greats of tennis. When Rafa lost in the fourth round of the French Open there was a colective groan from his fans whom had high hopes of seeing Rafa not only win the French Open for a record breaking 5th time but also having a shot at the Golden Slam (where a player wins all slams in the 1 season) and seeing Rafa lose in the way he did would have been rather sadening. and then having to pull out of Wimbledon a short while later with tendonitis in both of his knees Rafa would have to also forfeit the chance to defend his beloved Wimbledon trophey which he fought so hard to win , Rafa also lost his No,1 ranking because of that same injury. Although at the time Rafa's decisoin to pull out might have hurt it means that he will be a lot fresher going into New York than in recent years where his best was the Semi finals where he lost a marathon match with Andy Murray wich was played over two days beacuse of rain. If he wins the title and arch rival Roger Federer goes out in or before the last 16 Rafa will regain the No,1 ranking putting Federer down to No,2 and Murray down to No,3 whist Djokovic will stay No,4.
