Yesterday, I was about to write an article before the Yankees-Orioles game about how Mike Mussina had become the Yankees slump stopper. It's a good thing I didn't because that was the most horrible first inning I've ever seen. I still can't believe how can a team could let another team score 8 runs after two outs in the first inning.
Although the Yankees have a better record than they did last year, I am really worried about this team. The main problem is not the injuries, but because there is no manager presence in the club house. I was never in favor of Joe Girardi. I still think Joe Torre is the best manager in baseball.
If the Yankees want to start winning again, they need to trust their manager and play the way he plays. After all, isn't 38 different lineup changes a bit too much?
I hope Hank makes his point heard in the Yankees club house. They need to get their act together before the All-Star break.
