How I Drafted in a 12 Team Fantasy Football League

Garrett OlsenCorrespondent IAugust 31, 2009

Here is how I drafted in my 12 team league.  This is my strategy and I'll give explanations on all of my picks.  I was pick 12, so I picked back-to-back.

Pick 1. Chris Johnson RB- I couldn't believe Johnson was still there at 12 and took him in a heart beat.  In most leagues he goes he is going at 5-9.  He is the featured back with the run happy Titans.

Pick 2. Brian Westbrook RB- It was between Westbrook and Portis with me, but I went with Westbrook because of his catching ability.

Pick 3. Anquan Boldin WR- Boldin was the best WR on the board and I was lucky to get him in the 30's.

Pick 4. Derrick Ward RB- Ward was my sleeper pick of  the year.  I think he will be a top 6 back in the league.  I might have been able to wait until the 5th round to grab him, but I didn't want to risk not getting him.

Pick 5. Eli Manning- Now that I have depth at my RB position I took my QB.  Manning was the best on the board and a decent pick.

Pick 6. Jericho Cotchery- Cotchery is the number one WR in New York with Coles gone and I had to take him over Lee Evans and a few others.  He was also a reason why I could go back-to-back with Manning....
