Will The Andre Debose Injury Hurt The Gators Chances This Year?

When Andre Debose announced at the Under Armour All American Game that he was committed to Florida, every Gator fan knew he was going to be another Percy Harvin. When Percy decided to go to the NFL, every Gator fan knew this guy had to step up and become the new Percy Harvin.

Debose had a great game at the Under Armour All American Game in the winter and showed all of us that he had some serious wheels and catching ability. He was a clone of the former Gator great, Percy Harvin and had the speed to match Devin Hester.

Since then Andre has had some hamstring problems. He kept injuring it and re-injuring it. It is now thought that he may need surgery for it, as it is now torn, and he will be out the remainder of this football season.

Florida is picked to win the National Championship, again, and relies on their spread offense led by Heisman Trophy Winner, Tim Tebow. With Debose missing in their offense, they may struggle against some teams.

But without Debose, who will step up for Florida?

I believe that Deonte Thompson (Sophmore), Carl Moore (Senior), David Nelson (Senior) and Riley Cooper (Senior) will all step up to help the Gators win another National Championship. Not to mention Frankie Hammond, who also had an amazing game during the Blue and Orange Scrimmage.

Andre Debose will probably be red-shirted this year, meaning he will still be a freshman next year, and will be the Gators future at wide receiver, running back and kick returner.
