A series win is a series win. In taking two of three in Atlanta, the Padres played the role of spoiler perfectly. The Braves are in the hunt for the postseason, and San Diego made that road a little rockier.

The Friars pounded out 18 hits during a 12 run outburst in game two, without slugger Kyle Blanks in the line up. This after trailing 3-0 after one inning. The Pads have shown  great comeback ability lately, and I would think that the teams with San Diego still on their schedules are no longer considering those games easy victories.

I am doing my best to stay interested this season, but not having a chance at postseason play makes this a difficult task. We have hit the dog days here in San Diego—it's over 100 degrees outside my house as I write this. My AC has no chance under these conditions.

The Pads hit Florida this weekend, in a three game series with the Marlins, and have a chance to escape last place with more winning play. Arizona has been in free fall for a month now, and the Padres are only two games behind them entering play tonight.

Stay Tuned...  (HOT- I need a cool Lipton Ice Tea, thanks Dandy Don :) )
