Although this is speculation, it would appear that the stars are lining up for Matt Jones to play for the Cowboys in 2009.

There was speculation earlier this offseason that Jones was a fit in Dallas, but owner Jerry Jones dismissed this, saying the team was fine moving forward with Roy Williams, Patrick Crayton and crew.

But with the injury to Williams in practice on Thursday.

Which was initially reported as a broken collarbone, but which the Dallas Morning News says is just a shoulder sprain.

The team might need to re-visit the option of signing the former Jaguar.

Earlier this week, NFL Insider Adam Schefter noted on his blog that Jones had been in talks with three teams.

i think that Jones will be the 2nd String WR and he will do good.
