Ok we all know that Adrian Peterson is the number 1 overall pick and now with Farve opening up the running game I would expect Adrian to have a huge season. However, there are a number of running backs that are right on his tail and in point per reception leagues some can argue that Peterson might not even be the best player to take. Here is who I believe should be 2-5.

Maurice Jones-Drew

The fact is this guy is going to get all the touches this year - probably over 350 touches. That means a huge season. In points per reception leagues I personally think he will be the most valuable. Besides the 1400 yards he will run for..hes going to get you 70 receptions and probably 600 yards receiving and he gets all the goaline carries. Except for the Titans there really isnt a great run defense in his division. Expect huge numbers from MJD.

Matt Forte

This one was tough but the fact is that Forte had a huge year last year without a passing game or a great offensive line. The Bears have improved their offensive line and Cutler will open up the running game bigtime for Forte. Plus the Bears will be in scoring position more often this year leading to more touchdowns.

Chris Johnson

SAN FRANCISCO - AUGUST 22: San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis #85 tries to break tackle by Oakland Raiders cornerback Chris Johnson #37 during the 1st quarter as the San Francisco 49ers host the Oakland Raiders at Candlestick Park August 22, 200

This guy is what you call a football player. He will be even faster and bigger this year after adding some weight and muscle in the offseason. He is a blurr in the open field and the titans only break away threat which means he will have a ton of touches. The only knock is that White gets alot of the goaline carries but Chris Johnson is in line for a huge year.

Steve Slaton

Another great player! The rumor is that he added strength and weight in the offseason and hasnt lost any speed...now thats scary. Besides his rushing yards he proved to be a bigtime receiver out of the backfield. I would expect 60 or more receptions from him. Andrew Johnson opens up the running lanes for this guy and the Texans offensive line is probably the best its ever been in the franchises history. You can make a case for this guy to be number 2.
