Cable ( reportedly) gives an assistant the old 1-2, Chaz Schilens is out until at least week three with a foot injury, and Lorenzo Neal won't be seeing the field at all for the Raiders anytime soon.

The Cable-Hanson affair

Reports surfaced that head coach Tom Cable punched defensive assistant Rand Hanson, for swearing at coordinator John Marshall, thus breaking Hansons' jaw. Cable has denied these reports, and no charges have been filed. I'm going to go ahead and believe Tom Cable in the fact that nothing happened, and this is a bunch of bull(well, I think you can finish the phrase).

Chaz Schilens out with injury.

This came out as a bummer to me, as I was really looking forward to see the Russell-Schilens routine progress, but on the bright side he'll definitely be back by week three.

This though, leaves some questions about the current receivers on the roster.

Is this really a blessing in disguise? Will this help another receiver like Darrius Heyward-Bey, Louis Murphy, or undrafted camp standout Nick Miller emerge as another great receiver?

Or, as another fan stated, could it be "Miller Time!" (as in tight-end Zach Miller)

Or will veteran receiver Javon Walker step up and be that number one guy?

Ah well, all these questions will be answered soon I guess. This injury doesn't have me worrying too much though, he'll be back soon, and I'm sure that our trio of running backs will be more than happy to take a big share of the offense.

Lorenzo Neal released

Many Raider fans have stated that Lorenzo Neal has been released, but according to the Oakland Raiders website, he has been placed on injured reserve.

I think that all this means is that the Raiders are going to have to carry another fullback besides Oren O'neal on the roster, but who will it be?

Luke Lawton, Marcel Reece, and Gary Russell appear to be the choices.

Personally, I like Russell, but we'll have to wait and see.

In other News, safety Rashad Baker is again a Raider, after signing with Philadelphia previously in the off-season.
