So why is it that Rafa is using Benayoun from the bench—can anyone with a straight face say that Ryan Babel is more likely to create great opportunities for Torres??

As we witnessed in Liverpool's last loss, in the 20 minutes he played he had more of an impact on the game then any other Liverpool player. He is shown he can score the big goals (ask the Madrid folks just in case you are wondering) and that he can perfectly compliment Steve G in midfield.

Benayoun has come a long way since coming to the Premier League. He plays defense much better and seems like his endurance has also improved.

So why does big bad Rafa not start this gem of a player?

I will list some theories below—your help would be much appreciate.

  1. He weighs 160 pounds and looks frail.
  2. Rafa feels the energy he brings from the bench can change games.
  3. He likes losing?
  4. HELP?!?
