According to Bart Hubbuch of the NY Post, the Mets have released Livan Hernandez. They made the move to create a roster spot for Billy Wagner.

I for one am shocked. Even though his numbers are bad, Livan has had stretches where he has been good and some would say he was our most consistent pitcher behind Johan Santana.

Our starting five is already a mess and Tim Redding is still on the team so I don't see how Livan got the axe. I also hear that Billy Wagner has been placed on waivers so he probably wont be here for very long anyway.

I understand we arent going anywhere but I still want to win as much as possible and I think this move weakens our roster and clubhouse.
