I could watch the clip of Bill Belichick responding to questions about Matt Walsh during his CBS interview until my eyes bleed. I think it's hilarious.
I still have no idea what Belichick says, because all I hear is "I am a genius. I have won more Super Bowls than Matt Walsh will probably ever attend. And no matter what he claims our intent to be. He can't prove anything, which only further cements the fact that I am so much smarter than everyone else."
I just wish Walsh would realize this. Maybe he does; maybe he knows he's not getting anywhere and he just wants his 15 minutes. Either way, he sounds like that kid in third grade who reports everyone's wrongdoings because no one will hang out with him.
Enough is enough. Belichick is a genius; Matt Walsh is a baby; and I'm not sure what that makes Sen. Arlen Specter, other than embarrassing.
What I do know is that we are not going to learn anything new about spygate. But if people like Matt Walsh and Arlen Specter are going to let us laugh at their stupidity, it will be entertaining nonetheless.

Hey Bill Belichick: STOP CHEATING!!!
Oh, and good job, Matt Walsh and especially you, Arlen Specter. As my representative in Pennsylvania, please keep pissing the cheating New Englanders off.

Over the course of the last seven years billions of dollars have been wagered on NFL football games. When you add up all the collective betting on football on a global scale it is hundreds of billions of dollars. A lot of people lost a lot of money because of the Pats cheating.
Now,in the gambling world, its called "fixing a game" when organized cheating occurs within a sports franchise. When this happens you leave the rhelm of sports and enter the sleazy world of crime.
Regardless of what Rodger would have us believe, fans outside of Boston think that the Pats had a huge advantage from cheating. So would people betting on the game if they knew about the cheating. When cheating is uncovered in a horse race or boxing match, they don't loose a draft pick, someone goes to jail.
A LOT OF PEOPLE LOST A LOT OF MONEY BECAUSE OF THE PATS CHEATING. THEY FOOLISHLY BELIEVED IN THE INTEGRITY OF THE NFL WHO KNEW OF THE CHEATING AT LEAST TWO YEARS AGO AT GREEN BAY.
You have to realize that cheating in pro sports is something bigger than the sport itself. With the amount of money that goes through gambling transactions, any type of cheating has to be investigated. And that is the door that Goodell, Kraft and Rooney et al. don't want Specter to open.
This story broke nine months ago. In that time we know that Specter sent a letter to Roger Goodell, sent a follow-up letter, spoke with Goodell and conducted a brief meeting with a person with knowledge of the situation.
That doesn’t seem like an unreasonable amount of time to spend on one of the many issues he deals with. He’s the ranking member of the committee with oversight of the N.F.L.’s antitrust exemption. If the league conducted a sham investigation into cheating —as the evidence suggests — then it’s totally appropriate for him to inquire into the matter.

Ok so what will this bring us? Let's say that the mythical Rams walkthrough tape existed. Let's say that the Pats cheating gave them the edge to win by 3 points (EACH SUPERBOWL!). If you are investigating this based on Belichick's known use of recorded materials then, as I have written before, you are going to need to strip the Giants of their Super Bowl win over the Bills by, you guessed it, 3 points!
If you find that these tapes allowed the Pats to beat their opponents then what? Send Belichick to jail? Ok that recovered exactly $0.00.
I find it hard to believe that anyone who cheats only wins by 3 points. If someone cheats at a game one would think that the scores would reflect it. I submit to you that Belichick befuddled the Bills in a Super Bowl that they were favored to beat the Gians. I submit to you that the Patriots defense has stupified many opponents in the past. I can't imagine that anyone out there could think that this wasn't the difference between a Bills, Rams, Steelers, and Eagles wins against the Patriots. The 2006 season is a testament to this. They went into San Diego and smothered the Chargers with an inferior offense. They then nearly beat the Colts at home. Wake up people! Hate the Patriots for the right reasons. They are an evil elite team that has been forged by a man who knows how to win. Give the man some credit. He has been involved with football coaching since he was 9 or 10 years old. He, as one might say, has forgotten more about the game than most of us will ever know.
I look forward to someone else saying I am wrong and it makes all of the difference in the world.

I still remember at the NFL owners meeting back a few months ago when Belichick showed up in a Hawaiian shirt and said regarding Spygate: (not verbatim)
"I'm going to continue to do what I've always done. I will try and make the New England Patriots a good team, and try to make them compete with the other 31 teams in the NFL."
I just couldn't take him seriously...
