Going in south knew they faced a tough test facing Farrugut who is now 39-3 going into state play.

Ace pitcher Tristian Archer had one word for it, "wow! If they do not win state,i will be very suprised." The Admirals made quick believers out of the rebels when they jumped on top for a 6-0 1st inning lead, and they did not let up until the end of the 4th when it was already 13-0

"That's a great ball club,'' said South coach Anthony Richardson. "We were a little out of character, but we had some balls hit to us that have not been hit to us all season. They could beat a lot of good college teams. We were a little bit out of our league tonight.''

In the other dugout, senior Joey Delmonico, son of former vol baseball coach finished his high school career at home just a triple short of the cycle, Delmonico said "its ok,im not fast enough for a triple anyways" joey also said his dad has plans to make the trip to murpheesboro if Farrugut makes it to the finals.

South knew they had a chance at state if they could've beat science hill wedensday night but Coach anderson commented that they knew it would be an uphill battle to get there after the loss to Science Hill. South finishes the season 25-13, and the runners up in District I-AAA and Region I-AAA
