What Took Him So Long

I know everyone has their theory on why Favre took so long to make up his mind.

Was it he didn't like training camp? Was it the money? Maybe he wasn't sure if his body could take it?

No it wasn't any of those.

The real reason Brett Favre waited till August 18, 2009 to annouce that he would not be staying retired is for one simple reason.

He did not want to be in Madden 2010 this year.

Sure he will eventually be on one of the roster updates but for those people who don't connect to the internet to download updated rosters, he won't be there.

I think he didn't want to be in Madden due to his poor performance at the end of last year. He was worried he might actually be rated lower then the other QBs on the Vikings roster.

Also I can't believe I was able to already have a picture of Favre at Vikings practice.
