Right now, I have wonderful news. Former WCW Writers have written a book, well, a handbook if you will.

The WCW Handbook is about how to run a successful promotion. This promotion rivaled that of the WWE back in the '90s and had the infamous Monday Night Wars with them.

They brought in some of the best wrestlers in the world, and took a lot from the WWE or WWF at the time.

When they went out of business, only because they just didn't want to go on any longer (because lets face it, they did everything right) they wanted to give hand over their handbook to another promotion, but more so, to the world!

They wanted to make sure their legend on doing everything the right way lived on, and they knew it would if they released the book. Let's see a sample of the WCW Handbook.......

Get A Person With A Lot of Money To Invest In Your Promotion, But Make Sure They Know Nothing About Wrestling

Display_image

You must get yourself money to start out, without it nothing can get from the drawing board. This is why you go out and get a person who knows nothing about pro-wrestling, but tell them its a massive world wide business many are interested in.

Once you see dollar signs in their eyes, go in for the kill! Tell them you will find an executive who knows a lot about pro-wrestling to run things, you know, you make them feel at ease.

The best part about this is, it doesn't matter what the cost, you can use as much money as you need. If they ask, tell them it is being used for business, and it will pay off later.

They will trust you if they see people are paying money to see the promotion.

You must pay your wrestlers lucrative contracts, give them huge bonuses just to get them to come to your promotion. And, if possible, promise them a World Title run. But once they sign, forget about the titles, they won't remember anyway.

You already have them in, there is no need to follow through with the promise of a World Title,

Everyone knows you can trust a person with a ton of cash that isn't there's.

Get Writers and a Creative Team: But Hire Current Wrestlers To Save Cash

Ok, you now have your money to get started. Now it is time to get writers and a creative team.

But seriously, you're already forking out money for your wrestlers. Why not get some of your best wrestlers on the creative staff, it will save money in the long run.

Sure, they will suggest that they get in all the title matches, but who cares? People like these men anyway, so why not put them in the main events all the time?

They won't argue at all, and they won't refuse to do any storyline someone suggests. Wrestlers are known to NEVER have an ego, they will do anything you tell them too, especially job to a less deserving wrestler.

You tell them that you want them to job to a new guy, they will say ok, because they don't care about how they look. They are entertainers, after all.

Believe us when we tell you, hire as many wrestlers as you can for the creative team. It will work out very well. Wrestlers never show favoritism.

Make Sure You Add A Faction or Group That Never Has To End

As we all know, factions work out well all the time. So why not make a faction and never end it? You can keep adding members and make it seem like the faction is the actual company.

Who cares if you have 75 percent of your wrestlers are in the faction and 25 percent of them are not. It will not hurt storylines at all. If anything, it will help them. And, if a wrestler is not working in the storyline opposing the faction, just add the to the group!

And, because there are so many people in the group there will have to be storyline friction. So why not split them up into groups? Make them attack each other and start storylines that way. Again, make your faction's name seem like it's the company's name.

Make just about all of your storylines run through the group. People will eat it up!

Attack Other Wrestling Companies

Now that you are established, you want to make sure people notice you more and more. So, you will need to attack other companies that are even close to catching up to you.

People don't care about the other company's show if they knows what is going to happen, so what you need to do is go on the show and tell them.

Sure, people love your show, but they have a relationship with the others too. If they are watching you, how can they know what will happen on the other shows if you are on at the same time and night?

You are helping the other companies by telling their audience who will win titles and/or matches that night.

You don't want them to forget about the storylines right?

The companies won't get angry, in fact they will like it. Make sure to say Your Welcome!

Make Sure You Bring Out Great Gimmicks

Display_image

As we all know, gimmicks are everything for a great wrestler. In fact, fans follow anyone with one. You have to make sure you get a great one out there that Shocks the world every single time he comes out.

Sometimes people in the back won't like a gimmick and it won't reach TV. This is why you get a respected former wrestler to say he is behind a gimmick, even have him say he came up with it to further push it to TV.

Here is a great example for a sure fire gimmick that will get passed by people and everyone whose anyone will love.

Have the wrestler come out in a Darth Vader type helmet, but don't make it black. Put sparkles all over it, a diamond look even. Have him wear a vest for toughness.

Then, make sure his debut entrance is memorable. Have an explosion go off with him breaking through a wall. But make sure he trips coming out and the helmet falls off.

It shows that this man is human, because lets face it, no one knows a man is under there. Have him put the helmet back on, then make a very scary speech. It will go over big, trust us.

Take Your Time

Make sure your writers get everything done slowly, you don't want to rush greatness. If a storyline is not done until the middle of a show, who cares? It is being perfected.

If a wrestler does not know who they are going to wrestle until 10 minutes before the match starts, it's ok. They are called "Pro-Wrestlers" for a reason ya know. They don't have to rehearse or anything.

And really, whose ever gotten hurt in a wrestling match right?

They will go out and have a good match for the fans and come back the next night and do it again at the house show.

Storylines are easy to remember, the lines aren't tough. Just let them look over things they have to say for five minutes and send them out there. No mistakes will be made because these men, again, are professionals.

They are entertainers who can improvise at any given moment.

Keep them in the dark as long as possible, because you never know, they could be giving away their own storylines to insiders.

The End

Everything has to come to an end, and so does the WCW's impressive handbook preview. It will be on book stands Feb. 30, 2010.

Of course, the writers of the book wanted to give you, the B/R Public, a preview. But because they like TNA so much, they wanted to give a free copy to them. And as we have seen, TNA is already using some of the tips.

Now it looks like TNA will be the dominate brand, and you could be too!
