It looks like the last couple weeks' headache for Patrick Kane is going to be over soon.
Reports out of Buffalo early Tuesday are that Kane and his cousin will either plead to lesser charges or have the charges dropped completely by the grand jury.
Kane, the Chicago Blackhawks young star wing and the NHL's 2007 Calder Trophy winner as the league's best rookie, is currently back in Chicago's suburbs working out with USA Hockey.
The case against Kane has been odd at the very least since the story broke. The circumstances surrounding the alleged altercation with the cab driver have been questioned and changed on a number of occassions by both sides, and there have been issues with the character of the driver as well.
Kane is preparing for his third season with the Blackhawks, the final campaign under his rookie contract. He, along with teammates Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith, could be restricted free agents after the coming season. He was voted a starter for the All Star Game last year, is on the cover of EA Sports' NHL '10 video game.

We're going to send you the most entertaining Chicago Blackhawks articles, videos, and podcasts from around the web.
