A few years ago, Eric Bischoff let the inmates run the asylum. This Sunday, the inmates are just plain running wild. Let those who are to be judged step forward to receive your punishment. Here now is the rundown of this Sunday's WWE Judgment Day presented by Rambo.
Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women's Championship
Since the end of last year, the Glamazon has dominated her opponents. She has shown that she is unstoppable as well as beautiful. But every superhero meets their kryptonite sooner or later. Hers came in the form of Mickie James.
The former and current Women's Champion shocked the world one month ago when she dethroned Beth Phoenix to claim yet another reign as champion. But Phoenix has not gone quietly into the night. After their diva tag match at Backlash, it was proven that the rivalry between the two women was doing more than just simmering.
But the twists just keep on coming. After inadvertantly costing the Glamazon her shot at the gold, Melina made it adamantly clear that she is just as good of a Women's Champion as Phoenix ever could be. That was enough for William Regal to make this triple threat diva battle. At Judgment Day, three women will step into the squared circle to battle for the richest prize in the Diva division.
Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
At Backlash, the Showstopper stopped Batista's show with Sweet Chin Music, despite apparently injuring his knee in the process. Everyone thought that this was the case after the match ended. But Jericho, who was the special referee for the match, called it "The Greatest Act in WWE History."
Following a tag team match a week after the incident, RAW General Manager William Regal continued his reign of terror as he informed Jericho that he and Michaels will collide at Judgment Day. But just like the last few weeks, the hits and twists just kept on coming.
Following a face-to-face confrontation on RAW this past week, there was a third man involved the fray. After Michaels confirmed that he did indeed fake the injury at Backlash to gain the advantage over his opponent, the Animal made it clear his intentions for this Sunday.
Batista wanted HBK to know that his show was going to be stopped at Judgment Day, therefore fulfilling his stern warning from a few weeks ago to the Heartbreak Kid.
What will happen when the Second Coming and the Showstopper lock horns this Sunday? And what role will SmackDown!'s Animal play at Judgment Day?
Kane & CM Punk vs. The Dirt Sheet for the WWE Tag Team Championship
Ever since winning the gold from MVP and Matt Hardy, The Miz and John Morrison have done whatever it takes to keep the gold glistening off their bronze shoulders. But their opponents this Sunday have evil intentions in mind. Since beating Chavo and Bam Neely, the Big Red Machine and the Straight Edge Extremist are looking for something more.
The Dirt Sheet had momentum with a pair of single wins over their contenders this past week on ECW, but CM Punk gathered some extra momentum last night on SmackDown! With everything that is going on between the two shows, who is to say that history won't repeat itself in Kane's sinister eyes?
